ASEAN Harmonized Customs Tariff for Pharmaceutical Products for Monkeypox Treatment
August, 16 2022

Currently, there is no specific treatment for monkeypox, and medical care focuses on symptom relief and preventing complications. The disease has a mortality rate of 1-10%, which is significantly lower than smallpox.
Regarding imported pharmaceutical products related to monkeypox treatment or prevention, the ASEAN Harmonized Customs Tariff is classified as follows:
- Other vaccines for human medicine – HS Code: 3002.41.90 – Duty-Free
- Immunological products prepared in measured doses or for retail sale – HS Code: 3002.15.00 – Duty-Free
- Other medicinal preparations in specified doses or retail packaging – HS Code: 3004.90.99 – Duty rate: 10% (Section 12)
Customs classification codes may change depending on the active ingredients in the pharmaceutical product. To ensure accuracy, importers can request an advanced tariff ruling through Tariff e-Service via the Thai Customs Department website.
