{"id":5892,"date":"2021-04-12T17:03:44","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T10:03:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bkkterminal.com\/article\/the-department-of-foreign-trade-revealed-that-border-and-cross-border-trade-in-the-first-2-months-of-2021-grew-by-18-60\/"},"modified":"2025-07-03T00:42:20","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T17:42:20","slug":"border-cross-border-trade-in-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bkkterminal.com\/en\/article\/border-cross-border-trade-in-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"The Department of Foreign Trade revealed that border and cross-border trade in the first 2 months of 2021 grew by 18.60%."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\" id=\"&#xE01;&#xE23;&#xE21;&#xE01;&#xE32;&#xE23;&#xE04;-&#xE32;&#xE15;-&#xE32;&#xE07;&#xE1B;&#xE23;&#xE30;&#xE40;&#xE17;&#xE28;\"><strong>Department of Foreign Trade  <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>Revealing the total value of border and transit trade in January-February 2021, the total value was 242,641 million baht, an increase of 18.60%, which is the third consecutive month of expansion, the first time in 28 months.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>From the above statistics, it is divided into imports and exports as follows:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Total imports were 101,549 million baht, an increase of 17.18%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Export value 141,092 million baht, an increase of 19.64%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Thailand also has a trade surplus with neighboring countries of 39,543 million baht.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Thailand&#8217;s border trade with neighboring countries<\/strong> (Malaysia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, and Cambodia) totaled 140,724 million baht, an increase of 4.06% from the same period in 2020, broken down by each country as follows:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Malaysia 91,959 million baht, an increase of 13.17% (Major export products include rubber, computers and equipment, automobiles and components)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lao PDR 91,576 million baht, an increase of 51.95% (Major export products include diesel, automobiles, and other refined oils)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cambodia 30,811 million baht, down 4.8% (Major export products include non-alcoholic beverages, automobiles, motorcycles and components)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Myanmar 28,294 million baht, down 7.85% (Major export products include non-alcoholic beverages, diesel, spices and herbs)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p><strong>Cross-border trade with neighboring countries<\/strong> to markets in China, Singapore, Vietnam and other countries totaled 101,917 million baht, an increase of 46.93%, divided into the following amounts for each country:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>China 42,270 million baht, an increase of 66.44% (Major export products include fresh, chilled, frozen and dried fruits, rubber and rubber products)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Singapore 16,295 million baht, up 13.61% (Major export products include computers, equipment and components, electric circuit boards, electric circuit breakers and protection devices)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vietnam 10,064 million baht, up 42.44% (Major export products include non-alcoholic beverages, semiconductor devices, transistors and diodes, and other livestock products)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>Additional reports on the opening of border crossings for the transport of goods: Thailand opened 46 border crossings for the transport of goods on April 1, 2021, an increase of 6 from the end of February, namely:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Thai-Cambodian border checkpoint, Trat Province<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ban Mamuang Trade Relaxation Point<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>  2.
