This resulted in a trade surplus of 31,896 million baht for Thailand.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the first four months of 2026, border trade and transit trade totaled 690,043 million baht, an increase of 9.1%. Exports amounted to 378,408 million baht, an increase of 7.3%, and imports totaled 311,636 million baht, an increase of 11.3%. This resulted in a trade surplus of 66,772 million baht for Thailand.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For border trade with neighboring countries in April 2026, the total value was 74,040 million baht, a decrease of 8.7%. Malaysia remained the top border trading partner at 33,557 million baht, an increase of 33.6%, followed by Laos at 24,964 million baht, an increase of 2.3%, and Myanmar at 15,520 million baht, a decrease of 4.5%.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cross-border trade to third countries continued to expand significantly, totaling 137,106 million baht, an increase of 62.3%. This comprised exports of 78,999 million baht, an increase of 65.6%, and imports of 58,107 million baht, an increase of 58.0%.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">China remains the largest transit market at 80,948 million baht, a 52.7% increase, followed by Singapore at 22,510 million baht, a 106.1% increase, and Vietnam at 11,726 million baht, a 113.6% increase.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The top-valued transit exports were fresh durian (30,980 million baht), hard disk drives (10,199 million baht), and computers and other equipment (6,396 million baht). Fresh durian was a key driver of the growth in transit trade in April, with an export volume of 229,617 tons, an 89.6% increase from the previous year, almost all of which was exported to China.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, the electronics product group continues to grow, including hard disk drives, computers and related equipment, as well as communication devices, reflecting the strong demand for technology products in the region&#8217;s market.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, border businesses also have opportunities to expand their markets further through trade promotion activities and business matching events, aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and businesses in border areas to connect more effectively with ASEAN and other international markets.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thailand&#8217;s border and transit trade in April 2026 totaled 211,146 million baht, a 27.5% increase from the same period of the previous year.
