Thailand expects 2021 exports to surge 15-16%, highest in 12 years

Products exported that expanded well were fresh durian, increasing by 138.9%, expanding very well in the Chinese and South Korean markets; fresh mangoes by 48.6%, expanding very well in the Malaysian, South Korean, Myanmar, Japanese and Lao markets; cassava products by 48.6%, expanding very well in the Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, South Korean and Malaysian markets; fresh longans by 24.7%, expanding positively for 6 consecutive months, expanding well in the Chinese, Hong Kong, Vietnamese, Malaysian and Philippine markets; rubber by 23.5%, expanding positively for 14 consecutive months.
Agricultural industry products, overall, expanded by 21.2%. Important products such as sugar expanded by 74%, chilled and frozen fruits, canned and processed fruits expanded by 34.5%, up for the second consecutive month, and pet food increased by 25.9%, up for 27 consecutive months.
Industrial products expanded by 23.1% for 9 consecutive months, with products related to oil, plastic pellets, chemicals, and liquid petroleum expanding by 72.9%, a positive growth for 10 consecutive months. Iron, steel, and products expanded by 51.9%, gems and jewelry by 24.9%, electrical circuits by 26.7%, and computers, equipment, and components expanded by 19.9%. Automobiles, equipment, and components expanded by 12%.
However, if we separate only the Thai export markets in 2021, we found that the top 10 countries with the highest growth were South Asia, which grew the most at 66%, ASEAN at 55.1%, the Middle East at 40.7%, South Korea at 30.6%, Europe at 30.2%, Russia and the CSI countries at 27.3%, China at 24.3%, Taiwan at 24.2%, the United States at 20.5%, and Africa at 18.4%.
