No. 1 fruit export, dominates 41.3% of Chinese market, preparing to expand to provincial market
Thailand is the number 1 fruit importer for China, with a share of the Chinese market. Fruit exports to China in 2022 reached 41.3%, reflecting the potential of Thai products.

Ms. Rachada Dhnadirek, deputy government spokeswoman, revealed that according to data from the Office of Trade Policy and Strategy (OTPS), Ministry of Commerce, Thailand is the number 1 fruit import source for China, with a share of China’s fruit export market in 2022 of 41.3%.
Reflecting the potential of Thai products and the government’s push for a policy of market diversification to reduce the risk of relying on a single market, expanding to new markets with purchasing power down to the provincial level of China.

Currently, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) allows the import of more than 22 types of fruits from Thailand, including tamarind, custard apple, papaya, starfruit, guava, longkong, sapodilla, passion fruit, orange peel, orange, pomelo, pineapple, banana, coconut, jackfruit, longan, durian, mango, lychee, mangosteen and rose apple.
